The bistro-style Kitchen at Jordans Courtyard, is set within a complex of refurbed old farm buildings with a spa and gift shop, and lies – literally – just off the A303 at Horton Cross near Ilminster.
It’s a big and light-filled old barn fitted out with trendy stainless steel in the kitchen and wooden tables and industrial style chairs, with plenty of seating outside on the sun trap decking. Choose sun or shade; carafes and sculptural succulents give a hint of the Med.
On the menu: old faves and modern classics, so full English and a veggie version with homemade baked beans and sourdough toast, brunches, sandwiches, homemade banana bread with cinnamon butter, wood-fired sourdough pizzas with fennel salami and caramelised onions and salmon gravadlax and avocado plus loads of yummy homemade cakes and pastries. Homemade Belgian waffle anyone?
