Nesta Camping, near Frome

Luxury, family-friendly yurt glamping with a festival vibe: big red bus bar and lounge, sustainable local food and drink, live music, hot tubs, wellbeing activities and stuff for kids – on a country estate just outside Frome.

Weekend Escapes

Get back to nature – albeit rather luxurious nature – at Nesta Camping in the the grounds of Critchill Manor on the outskirts of super cool Frome. With handmade yurts and a converted vintage horsebox, wood-fired hot tubs, yoga and holistic therapy sessions, live music, stuff for kids and delicious food and drink, there’s a bit of festival vibe going on – without the crowds.

You’ll be sleeping in a luxury handmade yurt (sleeping from 1-6 people) with wooden beds and furniture, rugs, electricity or solar power and shared eco-friendly compost toilets and hot showers. There’s even a pamper parlour with hair dryers and lighted mirrors.

Nosh on wholesome, local and sustainably-sourced food and drinks (including cocktails, wines and local beers) in a bistro and lounge with a double decker bus.

Breakfast is served till late (or in your yurt). There are daily changing lunch and dinner menus (Cajun oyster mushroom with chimichurri, superfood salad, pakora or butternut squash arancini anyone?), a smokery at weekends and barista coffee, organic teas, artisan cakes and pastries and ice cream all day, every day.

Entertainment and ambient music folk singers, fire-pit serenades, lounge-bar beats and acoustic sessions at weekends. All sorts of health and wellbeing sessions with guest teachers.

Loads of stuff for kids – arts and crafts, interactive quizzes and games, a weekend Wild Tribe Forest School – or they can  just roam free in the gorgeous grounds.

Leaving you to treat yourself to a yoga session, massage, a snooze in the yurt or a lazy hour or so in one of the hot tubs. They’ll even bring you a glass of chilled prosecco.

Meanwhile, back in the real world there’s wild swimming, Frome’s independent shops, restaurants and bars, and the World Heritage City of Bath, all just minutes away.

The pop-up glamping site is only open from Fri June 25 until Tues 31 August, and it’s booking up fast – so you’d better get in quick!
