Nine Springs Natural Health Centre started life in as an acupuncture clinic in Yeovil’s Princes Street in 1979. Fast forward 40 years and several moves later to a former Georgian rectory in the centre of town, where director Kelda Prescott heads up a team of 40 expert practitioners offering pretty much any kind of complementary health and wellbeing therapy you can think of.

From the moment you step inside the golden hamstone building, with views across to Penn Hill Park and Ninesprings Country Park and work by local artists on the walls, you can’t help but sense the air of calm. You immediately feel this is a place to unwind, relax and recharge.

Whatever type of complementary therapy you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it here – all the main ones and some of the more unusual – to help with physical and mental wellbeing, pregnancy, relaxation and personal development.

The 40 fully qualified, insured and registered practitioners hold their sessions and appointments in 10 treatment rooms, with a ‘multi-bed’ acupuncture clinic (similar to those found in China), allowing for low-cost acupuncture – great idea.

Weekly classes in yoga, pilates, qi gong and tai chi take place in the large and airy Studio space in the conservatory.

A constantly changing programme of workshops – from birth and baby preparation courses, through mindfulness and meditation, to yoga for menopause – run throughout the year in the Studio and smaller Seminar room. Both rooms are also available for private hire.
