Pilgrim Corner, Exmoor
This trad Somerset thatched cottage sleeping eight, with country kitchen, squashy sofas, woodburner and outdoor hot tub, is the perfect base for exploring spectacular Exmoor and the rugged west Somerset/Devon coast, all year around.
Pilgrim Corner combines ye olde worlde charm (thatched roof, thick stone walls, oak beams) with home comforts (squashy sofas by the fireside, super comfy beds) and 21st century comms (Netflix, Sky, Wifi). Maybe best of all, the Exmoor National Park – spectacular all year round – is right on the doorstep.
Located in Minehead’s peaceful and picturesque Old Town, child-friendly Pilgrim Corner sleeps up to eight guests (and a dog) in four en suite bedrooms, has a large, fully equipped country style kitchen big enough to eat in, a separate dining room overlooking the garden, a sitting room with room for everyone to loll around by the woodburner and a quirky squint window to see who’s at the door.
Although it’s self catered, the owners can arrange for a local chef to come and cook and serve you dinner, if you fancy.
The terraced cottage garden is pretty in summer with a little secret garden and secluded summer house. The outdoor hot tub, with changing cabin, is fab any time of year.
Rather handily, there’s another Exmoor Character Cottage, The Old Sweet Shop, right next door – perfect for two families or larger group holidaying together.
You’re within walking distance to a sandy beach, a local pub and restaurant and minutes away from the heathland, moors and super starry dark skies of the Exmoor National Park and the rugged west Somerset/Devon coastline.
