Located in the heart of the village of Worth Matravers – a gaggle of limestone cottages grouped around a village green with duck pond on the Isle of Purbeck – and within walking distance of the sea, these boutique shepherd’s huts could be the rural/coastal combo you’ve been looking for.

Each hut has been beautifully designed and finished to a high spec, with a wood burning stove, fully equipped kitchen, en suite bathroom with power shower and flushing loo, and a raised queen-sized bed with views from the window down to the sea *sigh*.

Listen to your Roberts DAB radio, play a board game, flip through one of the books or local guides to plan your days out. Right on the Jurassic coast, you’re close to the sandy beaches of Swanage and the South West Coast Path. The rocky beaches of Winspit, Seacombe and the small cove called Chapman’s Pool are all within walking distance.

Sit in your own little private garden (one of the huts has a wooden swing), although you could walk through a paddock to the neighbouring hut if you’re two sets of friends holidaying together.

Al fresco cooking and eating on one of those fab Webber barbeques (bag of instant lighting charcoal provided).

Lovely in summer and cosy in autumn and winter, with thick insulation, double glazing and that wood burner.

Tea, coffee, milk, muesli, a bottle of wine – and Wifi – will be ready and waiting.
