The Circus restaurant, Bath

Excellent Modern European food in a relaxed yet buzzy family-run restaurant in the heart of Georgian Bath.

1 July 2022Add to My FavouritesSave

This family-run restaurant is practically a Bath institution, beloved by locals and visitors alike. Not only is the food on the Modern European menu excellent; the location is quintessential Georgian Bath, with the iconic Circus one minute (literally) in one direction and the Royal Crescent a couple of minutes in the other.

‘Course, the restaurant’s in a gorgeous golden Bath stone Georgian building, too. Set over two floors with a handful of tables out on the pavement, the decor is unpretentious and the atmos relaxed – yet there’s always a bit of a buzz.

Taken over in 2021 by the Lisanti brothers, one of whom was the former head chef and who now oversees the menu, The Circus continues the tradition of championing seasonal, local ingredients and delivering beautiful plates of food – mostly Modern European with some global influences – accompanied by Old World wines from independent growers  See the latest menu and wine list.

Come for lunch or dinner if you’re in town for the shops or the sights.

Less than 10 minutes away from the Theatre Royal and a dinner service that starts at 5pm (and with set pre-theatre menus every day except Sat), it’s the perfect place to eat before a show.

Loads of room for larger groups on the lower floor and you can book the area for private parties of up to 30 people from Mon to Thurs.

Book a table here.
