Hunt for eggs around a city

Pick up a special map from the egg theatre cafe and then step out into Bath to look for lots of beautifully decorated eggs around the city. Say G’day to a koala

Koalas and hairy-nosed wombats share their brand new abode Koala Creek at Longleat, near Warminster, with long-nosed potoroos, rabbit-sized, kangaroo-like, marvellous marsupials. From now.

Go on a voyage

All aboard The Matthew, a reconstruction of the Matthew that John Cabot set sail in from Bristol and discovered Newfoundland – and North America – in 1497.  This ship will be sailing closer to home, along the Avon Gorge (3–4 hours) and around the harbour (50 mins).


Look to the stars

Rainbows, infrared, spectroscopes, pinwheel galaxies and more at the Herschel Museum of Astronomy in Bath. The museum’s the former home of brother and sister astronomers William and Caroline Herschel, and where William discovered Uranus in 1871 and immediately doubled the size of the known universe. Sat 6 – Sun 21 April.


Find Easter eggs in a cave

Spot the glow in the dark (not choc) Easter eggs in subterranean Gough’s Cave at Cheddar Gorge & Caves. Sat 6 April – Sun 22 April


Build up some steam

Ride up and down the East Somerset Railway, based at Cranmore Station near Shepton Mallet,  as many times as you wish, with miniature railway and Easter egg trail thrown in. Fri 19 – Sun 22 April.

Family activities, local food/drink and the Roth Bar & Grill Outdoor Kitchen.  Sat 20 April.
