<p>Natural parenting space Bronwyn&#8217;s Baby in Wells sells everything you need for new babies and young children,  from baby slings, carriers (founder Kim is a trained baby-wearing consultant), reuseable nappies and feeding gubbins, to organic clothes, toys and books. There&#8217;s stuff for pregnant women and new parents too. Everything is thoughtfully – sustainably – beautifully designed. The winner of Best Children&#8217;s Business in the Muddy Awards in 2024 also runs cool-sounding toddler and baby groups and classes, and has a little snug you can rent out to meet with friends.</p>

<p>You&#8217;re (almost) never too young to go the theatre – when it&#8217;s the egg in Bath, that is. Part of the Theatre Royal, and a Muddy finalist more than once, the egg is a brilliant dedicated children’s theatre with an innovative and eclectic programme for kids from 6 months to 18 years. Hidden down a passageway at the side of the Theatre Royal in the centre of the city, it&#8217;s a charming place, with red walls, comfy red seating, and a nice little café. <p>Voted Best Family Attraction in the Muddy Awards 2024, Seal&#8217;s Cove in Bridport comprises the Jurassic Ridge indoor climbing centre for 5 years up, The Reef soft play for 12 years down – with dedicated areas for 0-3 and under 2s – and Barbaroasters café for everyone. With over 550m2 of tunnels, slides, rope walkways and more over three levels, there&#8217;s lots to keep older kids happy at The Reef, including a 4-metre drop ‘Big Wave death slide’ (eek). <p>Encouraging kids to explore their stock, the store is as laid back as the stuff they sell. The winner of Best Children&#8217;s Business in the Muddy Awards 2022 over in Poundbury sells wooden and unique toys and gifts for children from birth to around five years. Brands include the award-winning Crinkly Cloth Books (another West Country biz), Lego, Tickit Toys, Jellycat and Little Dutch. There&#8217;s some cute clobber for newborns up to age seven too.</p>

<p>The large – 14,000 square feet – interactive ocean-themed space in Cheddar has three dedicated areas for different age groups. Littlies up to 2 years olds will love the infinity tunnels, fish tank portholes, bubble tubes, whale slides, ball pits, sound walls, mirrors and sensory lights in the baby sensory area. Toddlers from 2-4 years can explore treasure chests, ball pits, slides, tunnels, submarines, interactive learning screens, portholes, a mini village and climbing wall. Older kids 5-12 years can run amok in their own structure with an astro slide, lighthouse tunnel slide, ball pits, ball canons, zip wires and an aquarium tunnel and interactive Strike-Arena. No wonder the place won Best Family Attraction in 2023.</p>
