Comins Tea House, Sturminster Newton

Cool, contemporary, minimalist – and all about the tea. There’s no coffee or chintz here.

Tea aficianados Rob and Michelle Comins live, sleep and breath tea, which they serve, along with Asian-influenced, locally sourced food at the Comins Tea House, situated in one half of The Quarterjack (the other half is their home), a beautiful Georgian building on Bridge Street in Sturminster Newton, North Dorset.

Sip a cup of fine tea; there are nearly 100 varieties here.

Enjoy a light lunch. Kimchi dumplings and Sri Lankan egg hoppers, anyone?

Tuck into an afternoon tea. How about a selection of tartines (a type of open sandwich) with homemade toppings, paired with a pot of Comins Fine Tea, followed by cakes and blueberry scones, clotted cream and another pot of Comins Fine Tea?

Buy all types of loose tea and beautiful teaware and gift sets in the shop and online.

Book yourself onto one of their tea workshops at their other shop and tea school in Bath.

Just never rock up and order a coffee.
