I don’t know about you but when it comes to seeking help for personal medical issues,  it can feel so much easier when you’re talking to – and being treated by – another woman, and in a peaceful, private environment.

That’s we were delighted to discover the Taunton-based Serenity Women’s Clinic, run by consultant gynaecologist Smita Sinha.

Smita – who has a string of qualifications as long as your arm (BSc, MBBS, MRCOG) – has over 15 years experience in women’s health. She specialises in the peri-menopause and menopause, intimate skin health, and facial aesthetics, using an evidence-based, holistic approach that is  ‘pro-aging’ rather than ‘anti-ageing’, the idea being that you work with the body rather than against it.

She offers face-to-face consultations for peri-menopause and menopause issues at Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital and The Crescent Clinic (whichever is most convenient for you) and for vulval conditions at the Nuffield. You won’t be rushed; consultations last 45 minutes, with plenty of time to discuss concerns, for Smita to review your medical history and suggest any follow-up tests. You’ll receive a bespoke management plan within a few days and a half hour follow-up appointment at a later date.

Trained in Facial Aesthetics with the British Aesthetics Academy, Smita also offers rejuvenating treatments using radiofrequency and/or antiwrinkle injections, dermal fillers and skin boosters  – and non-surgical, radiofrequency treatments to restore intimate wellness – at the Swan Retreat Wellness Centre in Taunton.

It’s an all-woman team, with just Smita and her experienced executive assistant Natasha Worth (who makes the booking process and after care enquiries smooth and personal); documentation is digital; and a private pharmacy, Pharmacierge, deliver medications.
