Swim, Lyme Regis

Cocktails, wine, beer, nice nosh – Friday night live music – in a seafront bar and cafe overlooking the beach, The Cobb and Lyme Bay beyond.

It’s called Swim and if you walk a few metres from the little café bar on Lyme Regis’s Marine Parade, right on the seafront – you can.

Sit inside or out on the terrace overlooking the beach in the bay, over to The Cobb and beyond. When the sun’s out, the huge glass doors slide open – and it’s bliss.

Enjoy breakfast until around 11am, with dishes including Aussie smashed avocado, brioche French toast, decadent sautéed mushrooms, the Dorset Doorstop (smoked bacon or sausage on Rise Bakery Japanese milk bread) and eggs most ways.

From noon ’til late, the menu is sooo enticing. Sticky Korean wings, mussels escabeche, Japanese baby back ribs; sharing platters, crab sarnies, battered fish and chips, salt and pepper calamari, king prawn Pandan curry, steaks, salads and all sorts of burgers (we’ve got our eye on the new Wagyu Royale). Desserts are to die for.  Kids’ menu.

Every Friday night there’s live music from 7pm.

There are always enticing offers, like two cocktails for £18, burger deals after 5pm, a slider deal for £40 with six mini burgers, spicy fries, plain fries, and a drink.

It’s best to book, but you can just rock up and many of their dishes are available to take away.

Open seven days a week, from from 9am to around 10pm, this is a place to meet for breakfast after a run on the beach, dally over a lazy lunch after a swim in the sea, or chill with a beer with your friends as the sun goes down. The sunsets are superb.
