The Bird, Bath

Come and roost at this chic, boutique hotel just a short hop from the centre of Bath and with fab views of Bath Abbey.

Fly into town for a stay at The Bird, a Victorian villa turned eclectic boutique hotel and an opulent jewel in Bath’s crown, relaunched by innovative hoteliers Ian and Christa Taylor in September 2019.

Witty avian touches abound – sculptures, crockery, wallpaper – with statement art collections and chandeliers in every room, and vast contemporary artworks on the walls.

Nest in 31 individually decorated bedrooms – many with views of Bath Abbey – with super comfy, handmade Hypnos beds, Malin+Goetz bath products and one has an outdoor hot tub (just saying). Many rooms can be made up with twin beds and and a couple have sofa beds, too.

You’re within pecking distance of all of the World Heritage City has to offer – the Royal Crescent, Circus, Roman Baths, Thermae Bath Spa, art galleries, theatre, shops and restaurants – and you’ll get a bird’s view of Bath on the National Trust’s nearby circular Skyline walk with its spectacular views over the city.

Bird Food? Eat, drink and be merry at Plate. The chic restaurant and bar with pavilions and domes on the outside terrace serves up authentic British dishes made with fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, including an all-day menu.

Flock together for any type of event, from a birthday party to an all singing, all dancing wedding in one of their vibrant rooms or the entire hotel.

Free parking (rare in Bath). You can bring your well-behaved pooch (ditto).
