Restored by owners Richard and Nikki Cooper in 2006, this is a place that has home comforts at its core. It boasts 19 individually styled bedrooms by Fuller’s with Eygptian Cotton sheets, luxe toiletries, and king-size comfort with bold wallpapers and boutique touches (so rest-assured you’ll be sleeping well). Travelling as a pack? Family rooms are pet-friendly too (£30 a pop), and free private parking is just the cherry on top to your stay. As for the food, it has everything from hearty breakfasts and leisurely lunches to classic Sunday roasts (with all the trimmings, obvs). Pair it with the hotel’s cask ales, craft lagers, world wines or a cocktail (or two) as a finishing touch before hitting the hay.

As for Bridport itself – it’s long been a hub for food, art and culture, with West Bay’s famous ties to being the backdrop for TV series Broadchurch (let’s hope you stumble upon a wild Jonathan Bailey).
