Gin lovers: distill – and dine – on us!  We’re giving away two tickets for An Evening with Salcombe Gin, at The Oyster & Fish House in Lyme Regis on Tues 12 November.  James Edis from Salcombe Gin will be distilling a unique Fish House gin, while you enjoy a four-course meal specially created by restaurateur, chef and author Mark Hix. We’re throwing a gin flight (yes, gin, not wine), into the mix, too.

Two coastal gems come together at this one-off event.  The waterside Salcombe Distillery in Salcombe in Devon, is renowned for its multi-award winning spirits,  including their super smooth signature ‘Start Point’ and Rosé Sainte Marie gins. They’ve worked with Mark in the past to create his own limited edition Mischief gin.

The Oyster & Fish House, overlooking The Cobb and Lyme Bay, is one of Dorset’s top restaurants serving fabulous locally landed fish and seafood. The perfect partnership, no?

Just as your starters arrive, James will start distilling the Fish House gin using local botanicals and herbs from Mark’s own garden. As you work your way through the courses – all made with the best of local seasonal produce (natch) – you can have a chat with Mark and sip on on gin cocktails, instead of a wine flight. Nice touch.

At the end of the evening, the bottle of Fish House gin be auctioned off in aid of The Fishermen’s Mission. But don’t worry, you’ll be getting a taste of the – very limited edition – gin, as well as a miniature Salcombe Gin to take home.
