Festival fans, listen up! This is the 11th year for Shindig, and it’s earned some seriously impressive credentials in its time. Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis famously dubbed it a good alternative to those who didn’t manage to get tickets to Glasto, plus it’s been voted ‘Best For Family Rave’ by Festival Kidz. This year’s line-up looks epic. Stellar acts include Gilles Peterson, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 and Moonchild Sanelly, who has collaborated with Beyoncé, Gorillaz and Extra Collective. Previous headliners include the likes of Groove Armada and Sister Sledge.
Shindig is billed as the ideal festival for party people with families, and you’ll find tons for the kids to get stuck into. Think everything from circus skills to graffiti, breakdancing and a whole world of craft. Fancy some R&R? There’s even a ‘healing field’ with hot tubs, saunas and massage. Bliss. When you’re not dancing to live music or scoffing fabulous food, you’ll find art installations and tons of performances to enjoy.
