<p>Take a seat at one long dining table in a beautiful, open fronted barn in the Sparkford home of renowned culinary duo <a href="https://www.horrellandhorrell.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Horrell &amp; Horrell</a>, where Jules and Steve Horrell (At the Chapel, Babington House, Roth Bar &amp; Grill) will serve you a four-course, menu-free, sharing meal cooked over fire in an outdoor kitchen. You could be noshing on stuff like whipped smoked cod&#8217;s roe, garden radish and mackerel crumb; butterflied leg of home reared lamb, rosemary &amp; garlic; Castelfranco, walnuts, orange &amp; honey; and Chapa-grilled garden fruit with home churned ice cream – it all depends on what&#8217;s been harvested or come in that day.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from March to December (£45 per person); you can book the whole place for a private event.</p>

Pick up Roman pizza by the slice, arancini, doughnuts, sandwiches, salads and hot lunches, Goose &amp; Badger coffee to knock back now, and the restaurant&#8217;s Mediterranean-inspired ready meals for later. Yum, yum, yum. Tuesday to Saturday, 9am-4pm.</p>

Artisan florist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mimosaandmoss/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mimosa and Moss</a> is to join the  clutch of cool indies which already include the award-winning restaurant <a href="https://holmsomerset.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Holm</a> and fashion and homewares store <a href="https://www.bloom-lifestyle.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bloom Lifestyle</a> on St James&#8217;s Street and brilliant farmshop <a href="http://www.tradingpostfarmshop.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Trading Pos</a>t and <a href="https://www.pipsrailwaycarriage.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pips Railway Carriage Café</a> on the outskirts. Charlie promises bespoke floral designs inspired by the seasons using British grown flowers, plus house plants, garden plants, botanical gifts and homewares, barista coffee and artisan baked goods. <p>We were sad to say farewell to Somerton restaurant, bakery and wine shop 28 Market Place earlier this year but our frowns turned upside down with the news is that in its place comes <a href="https://www.instagram.com/alfredossomerton" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Alfredo&#8217;s</a>. Chef Henry started waiting and washing up at the original &#8216;market bar and bistro&#8217;, worked in country house hotels around the UK and top restaurants in Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong and London before returning to Somerton, where he&#8217;ll be cooking up Italian-inspired sharing plates, handmade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, cured meats and cheeses with Sardinian vibes. Bon&#8217;appetitu!</p>

<p>At last! One of our favourite high street fashion brands is coming to Bath: a super duper <a href="https://www.zara.com/uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Zara</a> (not a piddly little branch) is opening in the city&#8217;s Southgate Centre in the autumn. </p>

<p>When <a href="https://www.strodetheatre.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Strode Theatre</a> in Street first opened on 5 Oct 1963, Bournemouth Symphony Strings were on the bill. Sixty years later, the acclaimed Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra returns, with Vaughan William’s <em>Lark Ascending</em> and guest solo violinist Thomas Gould, to celebrate the anniversary. Events continue with a festival of music, song, dance, comedy and drama involving 200 people from local communities.</p>
