<p>Renowned Modern European restaurant and Wells institution, Goodfellows on Sadler Street, has closed its doors and chef Adam Goodfellow (17 years&#8217; in some of the best and Michelin-starred restaurants in England and Europe) and wife Martine are opening a new place round the corner.  <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.7bwells.co.uk/" target="_blank">7B</a> dining room and cookery school, located n their Wells townhouse, will be opening for lunch and dinner Thurs–Sat and takeaway lunches on Sun, from October.</p>

<p>The work to turn the elegant, 18th century Grade 1 listed Sherborne House, in the centre of town, into an exciting new arts hub now continues apace, after everything went pear-shaped during the pandemic. The team on the ground were involved with the restoration of the swanky The Newt in Somerset (and we know how that turned out), so we can&#8217;t wait for this place to open – next Autumn, they say. <p>One of the UK&#8217;s largest public works of art opens on Weston&#8217;s beach on Sat 24 Sept. Climb up decommissioned North Sea gas platform <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://seemonster.co.uk/" target="_blank">See Monster</a> for a 10m high waterfall, cloud machine, trees and grasses and sculptures. Part of the Unboxed Creativity in the UK project, the Monster has been designed to spark conversations around renewables, sustainability and the weather. It&#8217;s open until November, when artworks will be will rehoused and the rig cut up and recycled. Make of it what you will.</p>
