<p>Some of Somerset&#8217;s best set up deckchairs, beanbags and big screens in their beer gardens for a summer of al fresco flicks. The Rising Sun in Backwell (1-4 Aug), The Ring O&#8217; Bells, Compton Martin (15-18 Aug), The Bower Inn, Bridgwater (12-15 Sept). They haven&#8217;t said which films will be screened yet so watch this space. Tickets include a free Peroni Capri or Thatchers drink.</p>

<p>The Purbeck Film Festival peeps will be showing two open-air movies with the magnificent castle ruins as a backdrop over Bank Holiday weekend: <strong>Harry Potter</strong> <strong>&amp; The Philosopher&#8217;s Stone</strong> (23 Aug) and <strong>Wonka</strong> (24 Aug). </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-durlston-country-park-swanage"><a href="https://purbeckfilm.com/project/durlston-castle/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Durlston Country Park,</a> Swanage</h2>



<p>Have a roam around the 280 acre countryside reserve on the stunning headland just south of Swanage before the screening of<strong> Ghostbusters</strong>, 17 Aug, another flick from the Purbeck Film Festival</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.bristolfilmfestival.com/cliftonsummerscreenings" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Clifton Summer Screenings,</a> The Mall Gardens, Clifton </h2>



<p>Not so much a load of open air movies but a four-day film fest in a pop-up cinema in The Mall Gardens with covered seating, a state-of-the-art LED screen and wireless headphones. Part of the Bristol Film Festival, there are around 40 films –  from <strong>Barbie </strong>and <strong>Sleeping Beauty</strong> to<strong> Blair Witch </strong>and <strong>The Wicker Man</strong> – running from 4-7 July.
