<p>The family-run <a href="https://www.jurassicproperties.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jurassic Properties</a>, voted Best Boutique Stay in the whole of Dorset, Somerset and Bristol in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2024, have six gorgeous apartments and cottages in the centre of Lyme, some just a minute from the beach. <p>Sleeping from two to four, they&#8217;re real home from homes, beautifully decorated and kitted out with everything you need for a great holiday stay, from well-equipped kitchens, comfy sofas and beds to Smart TVs and Wifi. <p>Lyme Regis has become a bit of <a href="https://www.jurassicproperties.com/local-information/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">a foodie heaven</a> and you could easily eat out for every meal without ever getting bored. Go for coffee and freshly baked pastries at Town Mill Bakery. Wine and dine with views over the sea at The Lyme Bay Café &amp; Bar.  Eat hyper seasonal – often foraged – small plates and biodynamic wines at thee Michelin-listed <a href="https://www.lilacwine.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lilac</a>; tapas at The Strawberry Tree; modern British at Millside and Tom&#8217;s. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-to-do">What to do</h2>



<p>Where to start? Go for a dip, paddle around in a kayak or SUP, take a boat trip. Hunt fossils, explore marine life in the rock pools, sweat it out on beach-side wood-fired sauna or just stroll along the promenade. Kids will love the sandy beach and safe swimming but if it&#8217;s a rainy day there&#8217;s always the dinosaur and fossil museum, aquarium and <a href="https://www.jurassicproperties.com/activities-for-kids-in-lyme-regis/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">lots more to do with kids.</a> </p>



<p>Take in a show at the quirky indie Marine Theatre or a film in the tiny Under the Stars cinema (with only 20 seats, it&#8217;s an experience in itself). </p>

<p>Lyme hosts all kinds of festivals and unique events – The Blessing of the Boats, the Lyme Sausage &amp; Cider Festival, busking, folk and fossil fests – as well as an annual Regatta &amp; Carnival and summer fireworks. <a href="https://www.jurassicproperties.com/events/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">See what&#8217;s on throughout the year. </a></p>



<p>Explore the spectacular Jurassic Coast on foot. The South West Coast Path is right on the doorstep and here are some <a href="https://www.jurassicproperties.com/local-walks/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">excellent walks</a>. </p>

<p>You can easily wile away the hours in Lyme&#8217;s independent shops, including chic lifestyle boutique <a href="https://ryderandhope.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ryder &amp; Hope</a>; the Lyme Regis Bookshop; and galleries and designer-makers at the Town Mill, a 700 year-old working watermill.</p>
