<p>Oh we do like to be beside the seaside! Especially when it&#8217;s sitting in our own little beach hut, watching the waves hit the sand with a glass of something chilled in hand. </p>

<p>Traditional beach huts have been reimagined as luxury beach front lodges on a private raised deck on the Seafront Promenade near Boscombe Pier&nbsp;– no Primus stoves or eggs hard-boiled in kettles here. These cool pads, sleeping up to four adults and two kids, have open-plan living spaces, mezzanine floors with double beds, kitchenettes, loos, showers, electric BBQs – WiFi –&nbsp;and fabulous views over Bournemouth Bay. Perfect for a sundowner.</p>

<p>Stay at this beauty on the sought-after Mudeford Sandspit, and walk straight onto the beach and into the sea from one side, and watch the sun go down over Christchurch harbour from the other. The family-owned beach hut is rented out by the week from around £1.3k (or by the day occasionally – ask them) and sleeps eight (at a squeeze). A bit like camping, lighting is solar powered and there&#8217;s a communal loo block nearby but it does comes with a Weber charcoal BBQ, outdoor furniture and a kayak! </p>

<p>This little pad on bird-lovers&#8217; paradise Dunster Beach on the Somerset coast, is perfect for couples (and a dog) and boasts a 5 Star rating by Visit England. It overlooks a tranquil nature reserve a few feet from the beach and is a great base for visiting the mediaeval village of Dunster, Watchet and the rolling landscape of the Exmoor National Park. </p>

<p>The 62 traditional day-time use only beach huts – small, standard, large and a couple of &#8216;occasion huts&#8217; for larger groups – spread along the prom on the sandy Avon Beach are the Avon Beach Resort. Close to, and owned by, the people behind <a href="https://noisylobster.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Noisy Lobster</a>, one of the area&#8217;s best and most popular seafood restaurants, there&#8217;s also a Coffee Cabin, Lobster Hatch takeaway (fish &amp; chips), deli (Seacuturie anyone?), shop, bakery, ice cream parlour and the hut-based Avon Beach Market – very handy. Available for the day (£50), a week (£250) or longer. Occasion Huts are £150/day.</p>

<p>There have been beach huts on Studland (above) for over 100 years and around 260 today, with 50 day-use-only huts available to rent through the National Trust.  Colour-code by zone, you can choose whether to be at the front of the beach or hidden in a dune. Available to rent by the day (from £40), the week (from £170) or all year round (£1,260).  </p>
