Flanci pants !
Smash your workout, run or yoga (can you smash yoga?) with this funky new Somerset activewear brand
Whether you’ll be pushing to break your personal best in the marathon season (like me) or starting your first Couch Potato to 5k course (er, that’s really like me), you’ll want to wear kit that’s comfortable, practical and affordable. And it doesn’t have to be all black.
Just off the starting blocks is a new and funky range of shorts, skorts, Capri pants and leggings created by Curry Mallet endurance runner Nicky Chrascina (100 marathons and ultra-marathons and counting). Her aim? To bring colour and fun into activewear – big time.
Everything’s been designed with real people and activities in mind. So clothing’s made from high quality lightweight or, in the case of leggings, more durable fabric, that’s super easy to wear.

Union Flag leggings, £36.99
Little details like flat-locked seams and gussets mean no chafing. Sweat-wicking fabrics keep you cool. Supportive (and flattering) high waistbands and removable drawstrings ensure bottoms don’t slip down. Legs don’t ride up. They’re squat proof (phew).

Shorts: Benissa, £24.99
Hidden pockets for phones and keys. Nicky’s thought of everything.

Lograno skorts: blue, navy and purple, £35.99
Many of the designs are unique to Flanci, designed by Wellington-based Jan Olive and often inspired by the countryside (though where did Jan see this giraffe she created on this Capri pants?). Jan starts off with a drawing, painting, print or photo and then develops the design digitally.

Capri pants: Grazing Giraffe, £34.99
A hoo-rag or bandana anyone? Use as a scarf, beanie, hat or helmet liner, whatever.

Hoo-rags: Paw Pads Inca and Lograno Purple, £9.99
Mustn’t forget the boys. Double layer shorts, black with splash of colour below.

Double layer shorts: Black Skulls and Geo Camouflage, £32.99
The name? An anagram of Nic and her partner Alf and, according to the Urban Dictionary the word means ‘better than fancy but not better than fabulous’. We disagree.
Lots of different colourways and styles, in sizes XS to XXL. For the full range, see online.
