<p>Anyone up – or rather, down – for a subterranean Easter egg hunt? Follow a trail of glowing eggs and animal lanterns around Gough&#8217;s Cave, a spectacular chamber with stalactites and stalagmites. This is where they found the skeleton of Cheddar Man, a hunter-gatherer who lived around 10,000 years ago, and the oldest complete skeleton ever found in Britain. <p>Drop your little darlings off at the Holburne Museum&#8217;s popular Easter art camps. While each day is different, they always start with a look at some of the museum&#8217;s myriad treasures before getting down to some hands-on making – collage, sculpture, print making and more – under the guidance of real artists. Remember to stop for coffee and cake at their glass box café overlooking Sydney Gardens before <em>you</em> get on with your day. The Easter Art Camps run Mon 7 – Fri 11, from 9am to 4pm. £48 per day, per child (+ booking fee). Suitable 6-11 years. <p>Tog up in a toga and head to the real Roman amphitheatre at Maumbury Rings for gladiator battles, mosaic-making, catapult demos, Roman archaeological artefacts, Roman games and more. The free family-friendly event is on Sat 12 and Sun 13 April, from 10.30am to 4pm each day. <p>Forget the Easter bunny, follow in the steps of Frankenstein author Mary Shelley, believed to have written much of her Gothic masterpiece in Bath. You&#8217;ll see where she lived and discover past secrets, lies and darstardly events that took place in the city&#8217;s Regency side streets on a one-hour walking tour. The experience continues in the House of Frankenstein, a part museum-part immersive experience, where you&#8217;ll come face to face with unusual and grisly artefacts, atmospheric interactive multi-sensory stuff, an 8ft monster and ‘assorted body parts’ (eek).
