WILDLIFE: Abbotsbury Swannery, Abbotsury, near Weymouth

The swans are laying at the world’s only managed colony of nesting mute swans. Watch the swans feeding, get lost in a giant swan-shaped maze, ride go karts, have lunch in the cafe and the Abbotsbury Tropical Garden is right next door (you can get combined tickets). The website says it’s closed – but ignore that, they’ve been open since 19 March.

The ubiquitous Luke Jerram’s huge installation of the moon, created using 120dpi detailed NASA imagery, with an approximate scale of 1:500,000 and each centimetre representing 5km of the moon’s surface.
