<p>Under its new owners, the traditional Sun pub on Bruton High Street has completed its transformation – via some deep blue walls and chilli pepper artworks&nbsp;– into a Mexican-inspired local. It&#8217;s not trying to be a Mexican restaurant per se, so alongside their inventive tortillas, tacos and tostadas, there&#8217;s stuff like green ceviche, sea bass, squid and sea veg and, coming soon, Sunday roasts. Cocktails, mocktails, over 30 tequilas, 80+ craft beers,   live music and DJs will get the place jumping. </p>

<p>Bristol’s Harbourside award-winning small plates restaurant, where veggies take centre stage, is opening a second restaurant in Wells under Root head chef Rob Howell, who was born and raised in England&#8217;s smallest city.  No shipping containers in Wells; the new restaurant will be in the old Ensemble premises on Sadler Street.</p>

<p>Fans of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Beckford Bottle Shop and the <a href="https://www.beckford.group/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Beckford Group&#8217;</a>s four fabulous foodie country inns – The Talbot Inn (Mells), The Lord Poulett Arms (Hinton St George), The Bath Arms (Longleat) and The Beckford Arms (Fonthill Gifford) – will be licking their lips at the prospect of a second restaurant opening in the centre of Bath.  Headed up by chef George Barson (River Cottage, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal), The Beckford Canteen on Bartlett Street will be offering seasonal all-day dining inside and out from – hopefully – November. </p>

<p> Rumour has it that the all-day dinning brasserie group <a href="https://ivycollection.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Ivy Collection</a> will be bringing a touch of glam to the centre of Bournemouth; it&#8217;s earmarked a former fashion store as the site for a brand new The Ivy. <p>The cocktail &#8211; and beer, cider, lager, wine and soft drinks – bar housed in a former Baptist gospel hall in Blandford Forum has been voted the Best Place to Drink in the UK by <em>The Observer Food Monthly</em> readers. A deli-cafe and beer tap room Boxes and Coxes day/night on the ground floor with a cocktail lounge above. They make their own cordials and forage for flavourings and garnishes. Chin chin!</p>
